Friendly N6

The Friendly N6 route traverses the Amahlathi Municipality and creates a route through many inland towns of the Eastern Cape Province, leading to Bloemfontein in the Free State. The Amathole District section of the friendly N6 starts on the outskirts of East London and ends in Cathcart, passing through Stutterheim along the way. Stop off the Python Park, the Lion Park to see the rare white lions, the Calgary Transport Museum and Mpongo Private Game Reserve.

The town of Stutterheim was started by the German legionnaires in 1857. it is nestle in lush agricultural land, surrounded by the Kologha Mountains indigenous forests and damns. On the outskirts of Stutterheim, the Thomas River Conservancy is home to a quaint historical village and rock art museum and guided rock arts trails, fishing , hunting, birding and paintball. About 20 km outside of the town the Mgwali Cultural Village offers a peek into the traditions, culture and hospitality of Xhosa people. This also a wonderful opportunity to purchase some beautiful traditional crafts made in the village 

The town of Cathcart is known of it rare wildflower and exceptional hang gliding. Hill slopes and thermal air currents product many launching sites. Other activities includes Fishing, Hiking, Hunting, Birding, Photography Mountain Biking, Horse Riding and Farm Holidays.
