AMATHOLE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY GEARS UP FOR STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION
ADM HEADQUARTERS, WEDNESDAY, 19 FEBRUARY 2025

In five days’ time, Amathole District Municipality (ADM) will hold a two-day Institutional Strategic Planning Session (ISPS) following successful technical strategy planning and Bosberaad sessions. This session marks a critical moment as the ADM looks to chart a clear path forward, building on lessons learned and ensuring sustainable growth and service delivery in line with the National Development Plan.
Despite challenges, including six consecutive years of audit disclaimers, Amathole District has made significant strides towards a better financial standing, with the latest audit resulting in a qualified opinion. To this end, ADM remains committed to improving its audit outcomes and implementing robust systems to achieve a clean audit in the near future.
The session will also emphasize an inclusive approach, as it will be livestreamed to allow both internal and external stakeholders to participate, ensuring transparency and fostering greater accountability. This initiative promotes an open and transparent government that values public engagement in its decision- making process.
In addition to improving service delivery, the strategic plan will incorporate vital improvements in governance, ensuring that effective financial management and transparency drive the future of the Municipality. Amathole District is committed to implementing strategies that will foster a better, more sustainable future for all its communities.
